🔒 The short version: VestCalc does not collect, store, or sell your personal data. All calculator inputs stay in your browser. We use Google Analytics for traffic insights and Google AdSense (ca-pub-1638874323475457) to display advertisements.
1. Information We Do Not Collect
VestCalc calculators run entirely in your browser using JavaScript. When you enter numbers into any calculator:
- Your inputs are never sent to our servers
- We do not store any calculation results
- We do not require you to create an account
- We do not ask for your name, email, or any personal identifiers
2. Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use VestCalc in aggregate. This includes information such as pages visited, time on site, browser type, and general geographic region (country/city level).
Google Analytics uses cookies to track sessions. This data is anonymized and we do not use it to identify individual users. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
3. Google AdSense Advertising
VestCalc participates in the Google AdSense program (Publisher ID: ca-pub-1638874323475457). Google AdSense serves advertisements on this site. These ads help us keep VestCalc free for all users.
How AdSense works: Google uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other websites on the internet. These are called "interest-based" or "personalized" advertisements.
What data Google collects for ads:
- Cookies stored in your browser (including the DoubleClick cookie)
- Your IP address and approximate geographic location

4. Cookies
VestCalc itself does not set any first-party cookies. All cookies placed on your device while visiting VestCalc are set by third-party services as described below:
- Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _gid, _gat): Used to distinguish users and throttle request rates. Expire after 2 years, 24 hours, and 1 minute respectively.
- Google AdSense / DoubleClick cookies (IDE, test_cookie, and others): Used to record user interactions with ads, serve personalized advertisements, and limit how many times an ad is shown. May persist for up to 13 months.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling cookies may affect the display of advertisements but will not affect your ability to use VestCalc calculators.

5. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected about you, to request deletion of your personal information, and to opt out of the sale of your personal information.
VestCalc does not sell personal information. We do not directly collect personal information beyond what is described in this policy. For California residents wishing to exercise rights regarding data collected by our advertising partners (Google), please use the opt-out links provided in Section 3.
6. GDPR (European Users)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to access, rectify, erase, and port your personal data, and the right to object to processing.
Our legal basis for processing via Google Analytics and AdSense is legitimate interest (analytics) and consent (personalized advertising). You may withdraw consent for personalized ads at any time using the opt-out mechanisms in Section 3. To exercise other GDPR rights, please contact us.

Our site may contain links to external websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their privacy policies.
8. Children's Privacy
VestCalc is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through our site, please contact us.
